Department OverviewUnited Family Hospitals & Clinics is a pioneering, international standard healthcare organization in China, our sole mission is to provide comprehensive, integrated healthcare services in a uniquely warm and caring patient and family service-oriented environment.Job DescriptionProvide coding assistance, assigning codes, monitoring and verifying coding activities for accuracy and completion to the hospital wideResponsibilities1. Provide coding assistance to all healthcare providers and other clinical ancillary departments.2. Assigning codes base on documentation.3. Determines correct codes for new or unusual procedures not clearly listed in CPT.4. Monitoring and verifying coding activities for accuracy and completion base on documentation and coding policies/regulations to the hospital wide.5. Verify with healthcare providers any vague information for accuracy.6. Interacts with the healthcare providers regarding coding policies and regulations.7. Data entry, filing and retrieving clinical coding data as required.8. Utilizing computer/software to analyze coding data, performs data abstracting and statistical reporting.9. Prepares monthly CPT Coding Error and Omit Report.10. Provide assistance on maintenance Chargemaster.11. Assists in training and provides assistance and support to new and/or lower level coders.12. Perform administrative assisting functions if needed.13. Other assigned responsibilities.Requirements1. Nursing background, college degree is a minimum2. Overseas working experience is preferred3. Working experience on coding and/or reimbursement activities preferred4. Knowledge of commercial insurance industry procedures5. Must be a strong team player and be committed to achieving success.6. Must have a flexible schedule with the ability to work long hours and on weekend.7. Need to take shift.8. Must have punctual work attendance and be dependable.9. Meets standards of professional etiquette and ethical conduct.10. Additional education/experience may be substituted for experience/education11. Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English12. Possess excellent analytical & problem solving abilities as well as a high level of accuracy and be attentive to detail.13. Requires ability to work well under pressure and the ability to work on multiple tasks simultaneously14. Requires good time management, organizational and prioritization skills15. PC skills16. Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy and physiology.17. Strong knowledge of the coding system preferred
